The aim of this document is to gather together in one place the collected writings of those who have recorded the narratives and lore of the Aboriginal people called the Awabakal. Every attempt has been made to follow standard protocols and to acknowledge each author’s priority in the content presented herein.

Designer Jess was born and raised on Awabakal country. Her online shop has artwork, gifts and digital downloads featuring her designs. Dhiiyaan (Dee-yarn) = Family. I was born and raised on Awabakal land with my ancestral family connections with the Barkindji, Ngemba, Gamilaraay-Yuwaalaraay areas of NSW. My art depicts the beauty of nature and it's elements. I draw inspiration from the beautiful country on which we live, as well as creating art that is reflective of family, community and belonging.

Our Library & Gallery is not just Awabakal-focused (the Awabakal are the Traditional Owners of the Newcastle region). We have rich resources and intriguing displays about Aboriginal culture and language nationwide. We also have books and language education resources for sale. Based in Boolaroo, they also have a library and gallery in Hamilton, with a public access library of 2,500 books focused on Aboriginal culture, language and issues.

ABORIGINAL CULTURAL TOURS
Biraban LALC offer a range of Aboriginal cultural tours aimed at educating people on the LOCAL Aboriginal Culture and Heritage (ACH) of the Awaba & Muloobinba area (Awabakal Country).

Artist based in Toronto. Her works are titled using Awabakal language, and she has been involved in many public art projects, so you’ve probably seen her work around Awabakal Country.
