Connecting to Avondale Printers

Avondale offers a ‘follow me’ print system, comprising of a Print Queue that print jobs are submitted to. Jobs can be released at any print station on campus via your Avondale ID card.

There are multiple ways you can submit a print job:

  • Upload the document to myprint.avondale.edu.au using the WebPrint Option.

  • E-mail the document from your Avondale account. Search for "printme" in the address book. (note this is default to b&w double-sided only)

  • Use Mobility Print to link the printer to your computer 

    • This option installs 2 printers in your list - . One for Black and White, the other for Colour printing. 

      • If you wish to print more than one page on a page, use this option. 

 

Mobility Print Set-Up

  1. Go to myprint.avondale.edu.au/setup

  2. Select your device from the Options in the picture below. This will download thePaperCut software for your computer.

  3. Run the installation program

  4. Sign in to PaperCut using Avondale ID and password. 

  5. Click the button to install the Two printers.

    • The printer names will say Mobility Print in the name and will show as in the picture to the right.

    • These will now be displayed in your printer list. 

Note Add credit before printing! 

 

Print Costs

Print costs for Printing and photocopying in Black & White + Colour : 

Black and white

 A4 Black & White single 10c

* Please note these costs are per page and apply to both Printing and Photocopying. Scanning is free. 

 

Adding Print Credit

Add your own print credit online. Have your EFTPOS card handy and:

  1. Visit myprint.avondale.edu.au (on any device with internet access)
  2. Log in using the Sign in with Microsoft button.
  3. Proceed to connect using your Avondale username and password.
  4. Select Add Credit from the left side menu (if you are on a mobile phone, scroll to the bottom and select desktop mode first)
  5. Follow the steps with the green buttons. 
  6. Credit is applied immediately and does not expire.

Note a $5 minimum amount added applies

How to Print in Colour

 

Avondale's PaperCut system is defaulted to print in black and white and be double-sided. If you would like to print in colour - you need to change this in the printer settings (not within the application settings, as these will still print in black and white. Steps to print in colour for PDF, Word & PowerPoint applications are listed below. 

Print in Colour in MS Word

  1. Open Print page 
  2. Chose the MyPrintQueue or Mobility Print Printer as the Printer 
  3. Select the Printer Properties link in blue just below (the arrow in the picture above shows the location). 
  4. Change the settings within the box that pops up
    1. Colour ( under the output colour box) 
    2. Single Sided (under the 2-sided print box) 
    3. Under the 2-sided Print section, use the dropdown menu and choose "Flip on short edge" to print back-to-back if you are printing brochures and/or flyers.

 

 

 


Print in Colour in MS PowerPoint

To print in colour in MS PowerPoint, use the same steps as MS Word. PowerPoint has the added feature of being able to choose how many slides to a page within the application settings before pressing printer properties. 

 

1. Using the drop-down menu on the Full Page Slides button, you can:

  • Configure the print layout style (full page slides, slides with notes etc) 
  • Use the handouts section to choose how many slides print to a page

Print in Colour from a Webpage

Print to A3 Paper - on a Mac

 

Avondale's PaperCut system is defaulted to print on A4 paper. Using MyPrintQueue and the Mobility Print options, you can use the printer settings to enlarge to print in A3 easily. 

Unfortunately, WebPrint does not have this feature. If you are uploading a document to WebPrint, you first need to make sure that the document you are uploading is already saved as an A3-sized document. We have included instructions on how to do this / check this for a few main applications below.

  1. Click Layout
  2. Find the Size button and open drop-down menu 
  3. Select A3 from the list.

 


MS PowerPoint A3

  1. Select Design
  2. Click on Slide Size
  3. Select Page Setup..
  4. Select Dropdown Slide Sized for..
  5. Select A3 Paper
  6. Press OK

Adobe PDF File/image/document that opens with Preview

  1. Open the file with Preview
  2. Select Print
  3. Select Dropdown for Paper Size and change to A3
  4. Click on the Down arrow on the bottom left of the screen and select Save as PDF…
  5. Select location you wish to save the updated PDF

 

Print to A3 Paper - on a PC
