WELCOME

On behalf of the Avondale Library team, I want to welcome all new and returning professional staff and academics. The library is looking forward to 2022 and opening our doors again!  Our team will be offering both on-line and f2f services this Semester, including textbook and laptop checkout, new extended loaning periods, expanded resource publisher options (ebooks), Library Plan 2022-2024, additional study rooms and more STEM resources

Automatic Renewals ?!?!

We are introducing extended loan periods for staff and students. This will reduce late fees and enable uninterrupted loan of items.  For further details check out AUTOMATIC RENEWALS

Reminder of key Library services

  • RESERVE ITEMS:    Reserve books have been updated for S1 2022, if you would like additional books to be placed with Prescribed readings then please do not hesitate to contact: Judith  (LMC) or  Stephanie (SYD)
  • eRESERVE ITEMS:   Reading Lists require ongoing update, management and rollover into the new teaching periods.  If you would like assistance please contact  Rebecca (LMC), & Jennifer (Syd).
  • Book/eBook Purchases: if you would like to order additional books for your course either use the Purchasing Form. or  order through Primo by login

    • Note: book budgets have now been attributed to School library categories- meaning individual lecturer budgets will no longer allocated. This will be communicated further in School meetings.
  • AIM – Our academic integrity module is compulsory for new students. It is managed through the library and you can contact Rebecca for information on completions/progress.  

 

 LEARN 2 LEARN series is our branded online training events for Semester 1.  They include information literacy, research skills, reference help, Endnote, library intro for Distance Students, Research for Phd students.   Direct your students to our homepage to find access to this helpful series.

With over 30,000 programs and growing, Informit EduTV provides content across a range of learning areas. As well as documentaries, Informit EduTV includes programs broadcast on pay TV channels such as The History Channel, National Geographic, BBC Knowledge and Discovery.
