Research Assistant (Beta)

The ExLibris team has recently unveiled a new feature for Primo search - Primo Research Assistant (Beta). It is an AI-powered feature that is now available to use for searching the Library catalogue!

Primo Research Assistant (Beta) enables users to ask questions and will then generate an overview from relevant sources. This tool can be useful for gathering initial insights and quick searches.

How to access Primo Research Assistant (Beta):

  • Main menu: select the Primo Research Assistant (Beta) icon from the main menu of any page in the Library catalogue.

  • Search results page: look for the Primo Research Assistant widget on the right side of your screen.

Keep in mind you must be signed in to use this feature!

Type in our question, and it will provide:

  • Top 5 relevant sources
    • including abstracts and links to full text articles
  • Overview/summary of sources
  • View more results from your library search
    • This brings up the search terms and query generated from your question.
